How much will I get paid from the deceased Death Insurance Claim?

This depends on their death insurance policy, member’s age, profession and salary. Every eligible member will be covered for a different amount.

You can check your member’s insurance coverage by checking with their Superannuation provider or again it will be declared on the annual Superannuation statement.

The Death benefit may also differ depending on the “Date of Claim” ie; date of deceased death.

Which family member will receive the Death Benefit payment?

This depends if the deceased member nominated a member as their beneficiary. If a beneficiary is nominated then they will get paid the lump sum amount.

If no beneficiary is nominated then the benefit will be paid to one or more of the dependants who relied on the beneficiary for financial support.
